Distinctive feature and main attribute: a non-corroding chromium steel, showing good corrosion resistance to water and steam and even lightly alkali medias if well-composedly alloyed. It can be tempered because of its carbon content unless the final part has been polished properly (without pores). The Chronifer Labor 17% (1.4104) is the lowest price stainless steel in its range. The machining properties are very good for automatic lathe Tornos machines. Use and application range: include mechanical assembly engineering screws, spindles and axes.
The Chronifer Labor 17% (Aisi430F) can be heat treated to
apprx. 40 HRC due to the high carbon content of 0.10 - 0.17%
The sizes between Dia. 5 - 32mm are in tempered (cond. T) in stock. This additional process enhances the machinability and the
corrosion resistance. |
