Law 100 X® ~ 1095 Hardenable free machining steel for the watchmaking industry
|
| |
Distinctive features & main attributes: Unalloyed, lead free QT-hardenable steel (up to apprx.64 HRc possible). Freemachining steel produced to a powder metallurgy route.
Uses: This steel is very well adapted for the production of parts in the watch making industry.
The exceptional fineness and homogeneity of its microstructure render it the material of
choice for the production of gears, axis and other difficult parts. Its unique features are its
reliability, reproducibility and excellent polishing ability, which all together permit a very
economical production. These features are due to the particular powder technology route used
to produce this steel. The LAW100X® is also most favourably used to make difficult parts in
the high precision fine mechanical engineering and the automotive industry. Its lead free
chemical composition is fairly identical and its mechanical properties similar to those of the
20AP and Law 100Pb steels.
