Chronifer 465 KL is a product of Carpenter steel under the protected brand name Custom 465. It is a premium melted martensitic, age-hardenable steel, capable of ultimate tensile strength of over 1700 MPa (250ksi) in the overaged condition H 900. This alloy designed for applications in the field of excellent notch tensile strength and fracture thoughness for medical instruments.
Chronifer 465 KL is used as premium precipitation steel of the newest generation, created to solve the problems of actuel used steels for medical instrumentation, like corrosion problems, high tensile strength, breakage of instruments. The norm ASTM F-899 has already added this high tech steel under UNS S46500
