Watchmaking Hardenable Alloys Chronifer M-15 X / SUS 431 / UNS S43100

SUS 431 / UNS S43100 M-15 X Watchmaking Steel

Chronifer M-15X / SUS 431 / UNS S43100 (X) Watchmaking Alloy bars

431 (X) / Chronifer M-15 X is available in stock as bars / rods. Chronifer M-15 X, 431 (X), 1.4057 X is a hardenable martensitic stainless steel that is produced by a special powder metallurgic technique, whereby the material retains a very fine grain size, microstructure and homogeneity.
The property range of the SUS 431 / UNS S43100 (X) is significantly improved compared to the classical 1.4057.

Properties of M15 X / SUS 431 (X) stainless hardenable watch making steel

SUS 431 (X) is characterized by a very good machinability, high durability and excellent polishing ability, which results in outstanding corrosion resistance, higher than standard martensitic steels.

Applications of M 15 X / SUS 431 / UNS S43100 (X)

Due to its microstructure an optimum reproducibility is achieved, therefore, the M-15 X is ideal for pulling smallest tolerances and for particularly economical production of small precision parts. In the watchmaking industry it is used for the production of pinions, pivots, plates, bridges and other clockwork parts.
