As implants are always used in the body, it is essential to aim for a <strong>high biotolerance<\/strong> when choosing the material.<\/p>\n<p>These implants are usually made of chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloys, austenitic steels or titanium. The latter is mainly used for patients with a contact allergy (to chromium and nickel).<\/p>\n<p>The in-house <strong>CHRONIFER 108 steel<\/strong> is an austenitic stainless steel without nickel. It is \u2202 (delta) ferrite-free, non-magnetic and well suited for all applications that require both high strength and good corrosion resistance. These properties make this steel particularly attractive for implants and prostheses for joint replacements.<\/p>\n<p>The following <strong>special features<\/strong> make the steel a material that is perfectly suited for medical use (surgery):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High mechanical properties<\/li>\n<li>Fatigue resistance<\/li>\n<li>Corrosion resistance<\/li>\n<li>Hypo-allergic properties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other suitable stainless steel grades:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1.4441 Implant (AISI 316 LVM)<\/li>\n<li>1.4472 Implant (ASTM F-1586)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Areas of application:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Osteosynthesis implants<\/li>\n<li>Spinal implants<\/li>\n<li>Dental implants<\/li>\n<li>Orthopaedic implants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In order to be used in these areas, these special steels must meet an excellent standard of <strong>micro-cleanliness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/l.-klein-sa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L.
